SUPPORTED LIVING SERVICES

At Valiant Close, people benefit from a vibrant network of staff and friends, while having a community spirit of the scheme.

SUPPORTED LIVING

Providing a great standard of care

The support living properties are purpose built and are all accessible. There are seventeen bungalows, each having either one or two bedrooms, an open-plan kitchen and living room, and a wet room style bathroom. All have doors onto a patio area with a private garden space.

Assistive technology can be tailored to suit the needs of each person and there is CCTV for security. Staff are on site 24/7.

Pets are welcome.

Valiant Close is in Sunderland which has cafes, pubs, restaurants, a library, a post office, shops, high-street banks, the Empire Theatre, Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens, the National Glass Centre, the Bridges Shopping Centre, an Empire Cinema, and Sunderland Bowl for bowling.

For those who like to remain active there is Sunderland Aquatic Centre which has a gym, exercise classes and a swimming pool.

We have a great coastline which has lovely views and even a few dolphins at certain times of the year.

Newcastle-upon-Tyne is also close by and has various places of interest for example the Life Science Centre, the Discovery Museum, Great North Museum and Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art. There are also a number of theatres and cinemas as well as an indoor shopping centre.

Valiant Close provides services for adults and people choose how they spend their time.

Personal care needs are addressed after an agreement from social services. The service has well-trained, experienced and enthusiastic staff team.

State of art modern purpose built, fully accessible bungalow

Services are purpose-built or have been adapted and use technology that helps people to live as independently as possible. For many people who want to live independently, getting the right care and support is just as important as finding the right home.

How can I access these services and what is the Process

To move to a supported living service you will need to have funding in place. Contact your local council or GP who will put you in touch with a social worker to help get your support agreed.

Once your local council has agreed your support, you can then get in touch with NDRC. A Manager will then get in touch with you.

We’ll arrange a visit to you in person to get to know you a little better. We’ll talk about your current situation and the support you need

We’ll arrange a visit to the available property so you can have a look around and ask any questions you might have.

A support package is created, and once funding is agreed we can set a move in date.
