Accessible holidays for people with disabilities

Part of Northeast Disabilities Resource Centre

Our Lodge

Northeast Disability Resource Centre(NDRC) have a large holiday lodge at Haggerston Castle Holiday Park, near the beautiful Northumberland coast. We have named it Castlemere Lodge. It is designed to be comfortable and accessible for disabled holidaymakers. Located on the banks of a large lake within Haggerston Holiday Park, it enjoys stunning views across the water. It is only a pleasantly short distance from the very popular Park Clubhouse Entertainments Area and the on-site shop.

Our holiday lodge is 40 feet long and 20 feet wide with a boarded veranda on two sides. It offers two twin bedrooms, two bathrooms (one with a bath and overhead hoist rail, whilst the other is a fully sealed wet room.) The very large lounge / diner has a useful kitchen unit located in a corner. The lounge is easily manoeuvrable by wheelchair users, walking frame users, etc. The sofas in the lounge convert into two beds so that a total of six people may sleep comfortably in the lodge.

Things to do in Haggerston Castle Holiday Park

There really is a castle at Haggerston Castle Holiday Park, and now there is a rooftop bar for you to take the weight off your feet and refuel. This park is the perfect place for all the family, with the Oodles amusement centre which is perfect for little ones. Plus, parents and grandparents will enjoy strolling around our lakes, soaking in the heated pool and you can all share a lovely family meal in the Mash and Barrel.

There is a wide range of activities for families, children and adults both during the day and at night.
